Local Honey is your one stop shop to shop for fun vintage and consignment clothing and accessories and to get your hair done. Yes, that’s right – they sell clothes and cut hair, as their motto describes. We weren’t sure what to make of this combo, but when we stopped in to check it out, it made perfect sense! What better way to treat yourself than with a fresh new cut and a new outfit to match?
They have two locations: Belmont/Hillsboro (sandwiched between Proper Bagel and Bongo Java) and East Nashville (next door to Barista Parlor). We stopped in their location on the Eastside and found lots of gems to choose from. When you walk in, the salon is on the left and the store is on the right side in a big open space complemented by large floor to ceiling windows. Leather jackets and boots, vintage bags, funky dresses and denim, and cozy flannel fill the racks – it’s hard to walk away empty handed!
Along the tables in the center, you’ll find jewelry and small accessories, many from local makers. We picked up a pair of stud earrings by The Gypsy Fawn on our visit. Check out their assortment of sunnies to finish off your purchase.
And don’t forget, you can also get your hair cut and styled while you’re there! Make an appointment by calling in or booking online, or drop in without an appointment and they’ll fit you in. Local Honey also offers educational opportunities if you’re interested in becoming a hairdresser, so check out their website for more information about their LOCAL.EDU program. Like any traditional salon, you can also stock up on your hair styling needs at the storefront.
Take treat yourself to the next level with Local Honey!
