Prima could stand on it’s own in any foodie city – New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas – but we’re lucky enough to have it right here in Nashville! This foodie haven is located in the Gulch at the bottom of the Terrazzo building. When we walked in, we were blown away by the dramatic high ceilings, impressive light fixtures, and beautiful open kitchen.
Not to be outdone by the beautiful setting, the food was even more outstanding! Every bite was a real treat from start to finish. To start, we had the romaine caesar salad with thin crispy croutons, creamy white cheese, and a seriously tasty lemony pecorino cheese dressing.
We also shared the foie gras served with strawberries, blueberries, marcona almonds, and grilled bread. It was as good as it sounds! The dish was a delicate balance of flavors – savory and smooth foie gras, crunchy toast, and sweet berries.
For the main event, we ordered the charred octopus (cooked to perfection over roasted, toasty veggies), pan seared scallops (with avocado, crema, and chips), the infamous chicken on a string, and a beautiful grilled sunburst trout (with asparagus, herbs, and cream sauce). You really can’t go wrong with any item on the menu – each one was unique and oh so satisfying.
On our next trip to Prima, we’ll be checking out their brunch offerings. Stay tuned for a full report!
