Foggy Bottom Canoe

Foggy Bottom Canoes NashvilleSummertime is here and what better way to soak up the sunshine than on the water! Tennessee is home to many lakes and rivers where you can enjoy an afternoon of kayaking or canoeing. Foggy Bottom Canoe is one of our go-to canoe and kayak rentals on the Harpeth. Just a short 30-minute drive from Nashville, and you’re transported into the beauty of Tennessee’s great outdoors.

Foggy Bottom Canoes NashvilleYou can rent a canoe for two or a kayak for one. All of your equipment, including a life jacket, is included. They offer a few different trips, depending on how long you want to be on the water. If you want a quick trip with the kiddos, they offer a 1.5 mile trek that can be done in an hour or less. The Ball Park trip is a 5-mile trek that’s great if you have an afternoon to spare – plan for about 3 hours including getting your equipment, being dropped off at the park, and paddling your way back to Foggy Bottom.

Foggy Bottom Canoes NashvilleIf you’re looking for something a little longer, you can choose the 9- or 11-mile treks. These will set you up for a full day adventure – plan for 3.5-5 hours on the water, plus travel and equipment time.  Whatever trip you choose, be sure to pack plenty of water and snacks! You can easily put a large cooler in a canoe or a smaller cooler at the foot of your kayak. Bonus – the rentals are dog friendly, so your furry friend can come along for the ride (and a nice cold swim!).

Foggy Bottom Canoes NashvilleNot surprisingly, spending a day floating on the river is a popular activity. Arrive early to cut your wait time, and get there before 3 p.m. to take the last float of the day (everyone has to be off the river by 5:30 p.m.). Happy paddling!
