Bread & Company has been a longtime staple in Nashville – we’ve enjoyed it since our college days! The location on West End Avenue recently underwent an impressive facelift. The updated space boasts wooden walls lined with Tennessee wood prints and plenty of table and booth space to enjoy a meal with friends or set up camp to get some work done.
We’ll admit – in days past the service hasn’t always been stellar, but with the remodel comes a totally new B & Co attitude. We’ve been back several times since the updates, and the staff is always extra friendly, attentive, and service is fast.
When you walk in, follow the line to the register and pick up a menu along the way. Stop at the refrigerator for quick to-go bites, like their pimento cheese, edamame succotash, or a jug of their sweet and oh-so-tasty fruit tea. On their menu, you’ll find favorites from their original menu plus a few yummy additions.
For breakfast, you’ll find the classics – pancakes, waffles, and eggs. Try the breakfast sandwich, which you can build to suit your own tastes. Stuff it full of veggies or go with the standard bacon, egg, and cheese. Choose from whole grain and sourdough breads, bagels, and croissants. And we’re major fans of one of the new breakfast additions – the avocado toast. Wheat toast topped with more avocado than you thought you could need, served with a drizzle of olive oil, lemon wedge, and two fried eggs.
For lunch, pick from sandwiches, soups, and salads. Choose from one of their longtime favorites – the strawberry fields chicken salad is always a hit. On the sandwich side, the Iroqois sandwich is a must eat. Almond tarragon chicken salad, lettuce, tomato, and their signature cranberry walnut bread – delicious! If you don’t see something you like, you can always build your own. With a long list of fresh ingredients, including veggies, fruits, spreads, and meat, you can create the sandwich or salad of your dreams.
And for a real treat, we recommend the grilled cheese and tomato basil soup. It’s one of our go to comfort meals since our days at Vanderbilt! Check out the new and improved Bread & Co, and keep an eye out for the re-opening of their Green Hills location soon.
