The Family Wash

Family Wash Nashville

the usual – eggs, veggie sausage, & potatoes

The Family Wash is home to seriously good coffee, great food, and a stage consistently showcasing local tunes. The recently opened Main Street location offers more space (including a patio and a spot dedicated to Garage Coffee) but keeps its same original charm.

To top it all off, Family Wash boasts an impressive breakfast menu served all day. You’ll find classics like steel cut oatmeal and granola, along with heavier egg dishes that come with a number of gluten-free and vegetarian options.

On our breakfast visit, we indulged in the fried green biscuit sandwich – a spinach biscuit sandwich with a fried green tomato and pimento cheese. We added a fried egg, but you can also add sausage or bacon if you want to be absolutely stuffed! We also went with The Usual – eggs, sausage, potatoes, and toast. Don’t forget to add sausage or veggie gravy! And be sure to wash it all down with a warm cup of coffee compliments of Garage Coffee Company.

shepherd’s pie

Of course, you can’t visit Family Wash for lunch or dinner without trying their famous shepherd’s pie. Choose from two options – traditional or vegetarian. Beef and lamb (or lentils, if you go veggie), carrots, pees, and onion, topped with a layer of garlic mashed potatoes and a layer of cheddar cheese – comfort food at it’s finest. Pair it with a cold pint on Tuesday’s pie and pint night for the true Family Wash experience.

While you’re there, enjoy great music as you fill your belly – Family Wash stage never disappoints!
