Heading to a Preds game or to a show at the Ryman this weekend? Pub 5 is the perfect spot to grab drinks and dinner downtown beforehand! Their food is approachable and casual while still feeling like a treat. The restaurant keeps ties to it’s name with pub-themed food taken to a new level.
We love Pub 5’s ambiance. The restaurant is situated behind a restored historic facade with beautiful bricks and the remnants of ads from decades past painted on its walls. Step in through the large entry way and find a lively bar scene and a few dining tables, all made with beautifully distressed wood.
Head up one flight and find the main dining room, which can accommodate both small and large parties. While you’re on the second level, peek out through the building’s old school windows at the crowd walking around downtown. Up on the third floor, Pub 5 boasts an impressive open air deck complete with a bar and incredible views of the batman building.
Now let’s get to the good stuff – the food and drinks! For dinner, we started with the baked goat cheese topped with bacon marmalade and served with a sliced baguette. The warm, creamy goat cheese was the perfect pair for the savory and sweet bacon. Even though we ran out of bread, we scraped the bowl clean with our forks!
We ordered the Juan Collins drink to pair with our meals – tequila, soda water, lemon juice, simple syrup, and a fancy version of a maraschino cherry. It was refreshing and balanced, one of our favorite tequila cocktails in town.
For mains, we tried the salmon BLT and the lamb pops. The salmon BLT came on a toasted bun with crispy bacon, lettuce, and thick slices of tomato, paired with a side of delicious garlicky kale. The lamb pops were served over a mix of french fries, arugula, and tomato and covered with a garlicky chimichurri sauce. We would definitely order both again.
Whether you’re joining or escaping the downtown crowds, you won’t regret stopping in Pub 5 for a pint, cocktail, or an upscale pub meal.
