The Local Taco is a small Southern chain restaurant that specializes in it’s namesake – tacos. With locations in Sylvan Park, East Nashville, and Brentwood, this taco joint is popular with Nashville locals, offering a menu that caters to many tastes.
The menu varies by location, but you’ll find both meat and vegetarian options wherever you visit The Local Taco. When we stopped by the East Nashville spot, we indulged in the fried avocado, fish, and spicy shrimp tacos.
The avocado taco comes lightly fried with a creamy avocado center topped with Sriracha aioli, pico de gallo, and green onions. Something magical happens in the fryer once the avocado goes in. One bite of it and you’ll know what we mean! The fish and shrimp tacos are equally tasty, with spicy jalepeno toppings to give the tacos an extra kick.
Brunch tacos are probably something you didn’t know you needed – but you do! The Local Taco’s weekend brunch menu has more than 8 to choose from. We visited the Sylvan Park restaurant for Sunday brunch and devoured the migas taco – scrambled eggs, potato hash, and melty jack cheese. The local scramble taco is another brunch standout filled with house made chorizo, jack cheese, and scrambled eggs.
Tacos are best served with margaritas, of course, and The Local Taco has one of the best in town! Be sure to clear your Monday calendar and make a trip for Margarita Monday, where you’ll be treated to 2-for-1 margaritas all day long.
