2015 hast been a big year for us here at In The Middle! We posted our first blog post in January, and now we’ve racked up over 100 posts about so many Nashville favorites. We ate our way through Nashville Farmer’s Market finds, fancy 12+ course eats, sweet treats galore, and so much more. We sipped on cocktails, craft beer, and bottles of wine. And we perused rows of books, prints, art, and enjoyed the great Tennessee outdoors. We want to do even more in 2016! Here are the resolutions that will make 2016 our best year yet in Music City:
We’re always on the hunt for great lunch spots downtown, and Rae’s Gourmet Sandwich Shoppe is one of our top picks! They offer cold and hot sandwiches as well as soups and salads if you’re looking for something a little lighter. The menu draws inspiration from New Orleans with options like gumbo, po’boys, crab cakes, and Zapp’s chips.
The Local Taco is a small Southern chain restaurant that specializes in it’s namesake – tacos. With locations in Sylvan Park, East Nashville, and Brentwood, this taco joint is popular with Nashville locals, offering a menu that caters to many tastes. The avocado taco comes lightly fried with a creamy avocado center topped with Sriracha aioli, pico de gallo, and green onions. Something magical happens in the fryer once the avocado goes in. One bite of it and you’ll know what we mean!
We love the holidays, and one of our favorite things about the holiday season is picking out gifts our friends and family will love. Good news – Nashville is full of spots that have the perfect gift for any person in your life!
Le Sel is the type of place that comes to mind when you want to celebrate something special. The ambiance, service, and food combine to make an experience that sets itself apart from other high end restaurants in town. Even though the menu pays homage to French classics, you don’t have to wear a suit and tie to dine here.
Whether you are searching for the perfect wine to bring to your next dinner party or hoping to find a new favorite wine for those cozy nights in, Woodland Wine Merchant is guaranteed to have exactly what you’re looking for. Woodland Wine has been an East Nashville staple since 2007, offering an expertly curated selection of wines for any taste or price range.
12th South’s Hero boutique oozes with glam vibes. The store is stocked with both approachable brands as well as plenty of show stopping (albeit bank-breaking) designer lines. The pieces you’ll find inside this sister store to Franklin’s Haven are the kind you’ll want to keep in your closet for years to come.
