This coffee shop turned popular restaurant is housed in a former pet shop (hence the name!). Fido is the most popular of the Bongo Java franchise, serving breakfast and lunch all day long. The breakfast menu is sure to impress, with a host of traditional and not-so-traditional breakfast items.
Start your day with fluffy blueberry buttermilk pancakes topped with whipped cream, powdered sugar, and sweet maple syrup. Or get a hearty start with the breakfast meat ‘n three – eggs, toast, hashbrowns, and local (or veggie) sausage.
Cure your hangover with the hangover bagel – sausage and cream cheese in a magical breakfast sandwich that truly does cure a night of too much fun. Or go the vegan route with the bachelor – almond butter, bananas, honey, and a cinnamon-sugar topping. Seriously, there are too many breakfast options to pick just one!
If breakfast isn’t your thing, the lunch menu has a host of hits. Fido makes one of the best veggie burgers in town – a homemade black bean patty topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, and grainy mustard (see header photo). Go with the fries on the side – they are to die for! The green chile mac and cheese is a comfort food favorite, and you can’t beat the Fido specials that change daily based on locally sourced ingredients.
Not forgetting its coffee shop roots, Fido also serves up Bongo Java coffee, along with a number of seasonal drinks. The Local Latte is simple and delicious – honey and cinnamon spice up your latte routine. Or order yourself an adult beverage, because Fido now also serves local brews and wines so you can indulge while you eat.
Don’t forget to save room for one of their many cookies, muffins, and cakes! There are plenty of vegan options to choose from too. Our favorite is the Vegan Hot Chocolate cookie – a chocolate cookie with chocolate chunks and a hint of cayenne for a kick.
You can still set up to do work with your coffee or food of choice but beware with it’s growing popularity – the wifi gets shut off during peak hours to make room for an endless line of customers. We recommend trying it out off-peak hours to avoid the line. Regardless of the lines, Fido is a Nashville establishment that is always worth the wait.
