East Nashville’s Lockeland Table is woven into the Lockeland neighborhood. Situated among family homes, the Lockeland crew took inspiration from neighborhood storefronts of decades past to make the restaurant look like a general store from the outside. Walk inside and the intimate space will have you feeling like you’ve always been part of the neighborhood.
Lockeland is the perfect spot for a date night or dinner with girlfriends, and it’s a great place to bring out of town guests. If anyone is unsure of their opinion on Southern food, Lockeland will make sure they walk away with a craving for more!
Sourcing from farms and fisheries throughout the south, Lockeland is known for it’s inventive pizza combos and entrees that put a spin on traditional Southern dishes.
To start our meal, we ordered the crab and corn fritters along with the cornbread of the day. The fritters come four to an order, crunchy on the outside and smooth on the inside, and are served on top of a bed of slaw and remoulade sauce. The cheddar cornbread was served in a hot skillet with a healthy portion of house made honey butter – so good!
We continued with two pies: the BBQ chicken special of the day and the Benton’s bacon with brussels. The BBQ pie was sweet and spicy while the bacon one was savory and earthy. Both had just the right amount of farm fresh local cheese. We rounded out the meal with the fish of the day, prepared with roasted carrots on top of micro greens.
We need another visit to sample their impressive dessert menu alone – their chocolate chess empanadas are at the top of our list!
