This New Orleans transplant has only been open in Germantown for a little over a month, but we’ve been there three times! That should tell you something. Maybe it has to do with our appreciation for all things Nola, but this butcher shop, sandwich counter, and wine bar combination has won our hearts.
The Cochon scene is super casual. Order at the counter and take your order number to display on your table. You can choose from ample indoor and outdoor seating, plenty to go around.
Each time we’ve gone, we’ve ordered one of the signature sandwiches off their menu paired with multiple sides (and a few drinks). Some of our favorites have been the BLT (salty, crunchy butcher bacon on white bread) and the Muffaletta (meats, cheeses, and olive salad piled high on toasted loaf).
Don’t miss the Cubano (smoked pork, ham, and swiss on toasted bread) or the Curried Lentil Roti (spiced falafel served in a warm flatbread) – they’re amazing too!
And Cochon’s sides and apps are worthy of their own moment of glory. We’ve tried – and loved – the potato salad, mac’n’cheese, brussel sprouts, and the pimento cheese. On our next visit, we’re ordering their deviled eggs.
Want more? Get some Cochon treats to take home with you. They have a grab-and-go counter for pint sizes of your favorite side and a full-on butcher counter. From andouille to boudin to duck pastrami, their house made meats will have your mouth watering.
