the Bonny Doon

Ugly Mugs is an East Nashville coffee shop favorite. It’s always bustling with locals and friendly faces. The open space is filled with light streaming in from floor-to-ceiling windows, and when the weather allows, they open their garage door style doors for an extra cozy feel. Find yourself a spot on the couch or one of the arm chairs for coffee with friends, or snag a spot at one of the tables to post up for a productive afternoon of work.

The coffee menu features local coffee connoisseur Drew’s Brews. Though the regular coffee is delicious, we recommend the hoodie latte to wake you up for the day. The honey, vanilla, and cinnamon spice bring a fun twist to your morning latte routine. The lavender latte is another favorite, featuring a tasty combination of maple and lavender flavors. The tea menu is equally diverse, with a range of iced and hot teas. Their Minnesota N’ice is one of our favorite iced black teas in town!

The breakfast and lunch menu features yummy breakfast and panini style sandwiches. Try one of their egg sandwiches like the Bonny Doon – egg, avocado, tomato, and sprouts – or the Argyle Sweater – egg, spinach, tomato, and mozzarella on a bagel of your choice.

sea salt & chocolate donut from Five Daughters Bakery

And the pastries are a can’t miss at Ugly Mugs. On weekend mornings, stop in early to get your hands on a layered donut from Five Daughters Bakery. Their chocolate sea salt donut is one of the best we’ve ever had! Scones, muffins, croissants, and cake from Dozen Bakery and Sweet 16th are equally tempting options for an afternoon treat, so come hungry!

Add Ugly Mugs to your regular coffee shop rotation, and be sure to stop in the Welcome Home shop just behind it for an extra treat!
