Tempered Chocolate Shoppe

Tempered Nashville

chocolate truffles

Germantown’s Tempered brings together three of our favorite indulgences: wine, chocolate, and cheese. This adorable little shop is a great place for a date or a night out with friends.

Tempered’s owners take great care in selecting the wines and cheeses to pair with the cafe’s creative menu of chocolates. Each pairing is arranged artfully on slate boards that you can share with the table – but we suggest ordering one for just yourself!

the Madrid

Tempered’s chocolatiers create all of their chocolate treats by hand with traditional French and Belgian techniques. They make everything from cinnamon hisbiscus truffles to salted earl grey caramels to peanut butter filled chocolate mugs. We’ll take one of each, please!

One of our favorite treats to order is the frozen hot chocolate. Add some whiskey or liqueur to it if you’re feeling daring – any way you order it, it’ll be decadent and delicious.

On our last visit, we decided to stay for more than truffles and ordered off of Tempered’s sandwich menu. They serve dinner Thursday through Sunday – make sure you don’t plan on trying their dinner menu out any other weekday.

the Geneve

Our picks were the Madrid, salty proscuitto and cheese sandwiched inside of a freshly baked baguette, and the Geneve, three types of cheese with honey in a toasty baguette. They hit the spot. We finished our meal with the dark chocolate dipped rice crispy treat and ate every last crumb.

You’re likely to find us at Tempered for their Wine Down Wednesdays, where they have $5 glasses from 3-7. Join us after work and celebrate that you’ve made it halfway to the weekend!
