Nashville Paddle Co.

paddleboard 3As the summer winds down, we’re taking every chance we can get to enjoy the beautiful Tennessee outdoors. Nashville Paddle Company is one of our new favorite ways to do just that. The company is based on Percy Priest Lake, a short drive from downtown Nashville, so go ahead and book your stand-up paddleboarding class for this weekend!

paddleboard 5No need to be intimidated by SUPing – it really is easier than it looks! Sarah and Holly at Nashville Paddle Co were friendly, energetic, and helpful instructors and got us through our first SUP experience. You’ll practice a few strokes on land, and then you can go at your own pace in the water (staying on your knees for a while is totally ok for newbies!).

The 90 minute intro to SUP class is the best way to get started on the water – by the end, you’ll be a pro! You can also rent paddle boards by the hour or for a full day for a choose your own adventure on the lake.

If you want to put your balance skills to the test, try the FloYo SUP Yoga class. That’s right – yoga on a paddle board in the water! The instructors even let us try a few yoga poses in our intro to SUP class. We’re definitely going to have to come back for a full class. Next on our list? The full moon paddle under the night sky!

paddleboard 1You can even buy used boards and Nashville Paddle Company gear online to show your SUP pride. Check the schedule for a full list of classes or book Nashville Paddle Co for your next birthday or bachelor or bachelorette party. You’ll have a blast!
