Sky Blue Cafe’s slogan is “breakfast all day everyday.” We can’t argue with that! Sky Blue is open 7 days a week from 7:00-4:00, so they’re ready for you whenever your breakfast craving kicks in!
This cozy breakfast joint is housed in an older brick building in one of the quieter areas of East Nashville. Check in with the hostess outside and fill up a mug of complimentary coffee to sip on while you wait for your table.
We ordered the Space Captain omelet, which comes packed with parmesan, spinach, mushrooms, veggie sausage, and pesto. It hit the spot with pesto that packs a punch mellowed out by the fluffy eggs and melty cheese.
We also tried the hot chicken and waffle benedict, a twist on the Nashville hot chicken craze. Sky Blue’s head chef recently won the Nashville Hot Chicken Contest, so you know their version of hot chicken is a must try! Both are served with fruit and seasoned fries – you’ll have more than enough food to share!
Feeling extra hungry? Try the stuffed french toast pancakes – a huge portion of french toast pancakes, eggs, bacon, and cheese all in one dish.
Sky Blue makes brunch even more fun by supplying a stack of Trivial Pursuit cards at each table, so come ready for some friendly pre-food competition. Nashvillians from the neighborhood as well as all over town frequent Sky Blue, so be prepared for a wait on the weekends. The food really is worth the wait, we promise!
