SILO opened in 2012 on the corner of 5th and Madison in Germantown. The menu is built around farm to table dishes filled with regional flavors. The space is warm and welcoming, featuring a community table, private dining room, a bar area to mingle with friends, and two patios for enjoying warm summer evenings.
The charcuterie plate is an excellent starter for the meat lover in your life, changing daily to feature freshly prepared prepared pâtés, bone marrow, confit and more. For a meat-free option, try the seasonal roasted cauliflower salad, served with toasted almonds and radishes in a light and tasty sherry/sorghum vinaigrette.
Among many standouts on the menu, the Sweetwater Valley Buttermilk cheddar mac is a winner. The heaping bowl of creamy mac & cheese is enough to share with the entire table, but it’s so delicious you might want to keep it all to yourself. Add a dash of SILO’s homemade hot sauce to make this perfect dish even better.
For our entree, we devoured the braised rabbit served with house made pasta, shiitake, spinach, garlic cream, and herbs. The classic shrimp and grits is another must try. Fresh shrimp, creamy grits, and Tasso ham pair perfectly with okra and tomato ragout.
Wash down dinner with the 5th & Madison, a refreshingly sweet cocktail with vodka, lemon, pear nectar, St. Germain, and Angostura bitters or try the ‘Merican Mule, a twist on the traditional favorite with Apple Pie moonshine and ginger beer.
You can also check out SILO for Sunday brunch – the menu includes hot chicken sliders and pulled pork benedict, just to name a few. More to come on their brunch soon!
