Sevier Park is a hub for community gatherings in the 12 South neighborhood. The recently refurbished community center is home to a fitness center and offers several fitness classes for the community. It sits in the center of the park, surrounded by tennis courts and a basketball court. On any weekday evening or weekend afternoon, you’ll find groups playing a friendly pick up game of basketball or practicing their footwork on the makeshift soccer field below.
The park has a kid friendly playground that is filled with families on sunny afternoons. With large, green fields all around, there are plenty of spots to camp out for a picnic, read a book, or take an afternoon nap. Sevier Park is dog friendly too, with plenty of space for your pup to run around or roll in the grass. You’ll also find a bike share station at the park!
Home to the 12 South Farmer’s Market, the park is bustling every Tuesday afternoon from May through October with locals picking up their CSA baskets and favorite home-grown veggies, fruits, and much more (more on our favorite vendors at the market to come!).
Sevier Park hosts tons of events throughout the year. They host the 12 South Concert Series spotlighting local musicians and the 12 South Winter Warmup (followed by the 12 South Winter Warmer – one of our favorite beer festivals in town!). The events are always packed, with 12 South residents showing their support for their favorite Nashville neighborhood.
And to top off your day at the park, walk to one of many 12 South restaurants for dinner or a cold brew. We recommend getting your BBQ fix on the patio at Edley’s BBQ or a refreshing iced coffee at Portland Brew. Pull out the picnic blanket and head on over to the park this weekend – we’ll see you there!
