Cinco de Mayo is a great excuse to indulge in margaritas and guacamole at our go to Mexican restaurant in East Nashville – Rosepepper Cantina. You may have noticed Rosepepper driving down Eastland Avenue because of the witty signs that change daily and invite you to come inside for some tasty Mexican eats. Rosepepper is a local favorite, and not surprisingly, the restaurant won the Nashville Scene’s Best Mexican Restaurant title in the 2014 Best Of Nashville poll.
Rosepepper is the place to be for tequila lovers. With an impressive tequila list, you’re sure to find something you love. You can’t go wrong with their classic house margarita, which is made fresh with no mix or machine. For something a little more adventurous, the signature margaritas are always a good bet. We love the Jala-Pina-Rita, a margarita made with jalepeno infused tequila for an extra kick. Not a tequila fan? Don’t fret – their house-made red or white sangria is a refreshing alternative!
The guacamole is a must, and the queso is another great starter – fondue style queso blanco served with chorizo on top and thick, crispy flour tortilla chips. For your main course, we recommend the sizzling fajitas or the cabo fish tacos. Vegetarian and vegan options are aplenty on the Rosepepper menu too – the vegan burrito is delicious! The servings are generous, so there is plenty to share (or take home for lunch the next day).
Rosepepper also has a Sunday brunch, with classic Mexican breakfast dishes like huevos rancheros and a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar. Happy hour is every Monday through Friday from 4-7 p.m. You can’t go wrong with a post-work margarita on the Rosepepper patio. Salud!
