Rumours East

We first discovered Rumours East in 2009, and it quickly became our regular spot for roommate dinners and when our parents came to town. Six years later, it is still at the top of our list. Rumours East is in a charming house on Woodland Ave, with twinkle lights and a beautiful wooden sign to welcome you when you arrive.

The cocktail menu is a must, with several adventurous options as well as your favorite classic cocktails to choose from. Try The Botanist for a refreshing gin, cucumber, and mint treat – it was a favorite at our table! They also have an excellent wine selection as well as craft beers on the menu.

Come hungry, because everything on the dinner menu is irresistible. We started with the garbanzo flour fried artichokes – four (very) large artichokes, fried in delicious crispy garbanzo batter, with red pepper and black bean dips for dipping. We passed the artichokes around the table, and they were gone in an instant.

Then came the main courses: sweet potato gnocchi cooked in rosemary brown butter and topped with creamy goat cheese, perfectly cooked salmon

with roasted cauliflower and a persimmon sauce, red shrimp with baked feta and grilled bread, and the house-made udon noodle bowl. The table went silent as everyone took the first bites of their meals – it was just that good.

The service was friendly, efficient, and accommodating. Complimentary valet parking is available (street parking can be tough around 5 Points on weekends). Rumours East is the perfect restaurant for a date night, treating the parents, or getting together with friends. Go on over to OpenTable and make a reservation at Rumours East for your next night out!
